The Hotel is situated in a quiet part of the old town, overlooking the ramparts, with spectacular views of the Pyrenees, and is ideal for a small group visit or convention, being able to accommodate a group of up to 20 people. The hotel restaurant Cara Sol has been entirely renovated in spring 2006. All the rooms are en-suite, have air conditioning, wi-fi, television, and above all, a magnificent, panoramic view onto the Canigou and the Albères mountains. The cuisine is delicious, with has a touch of the Mediterranean and is accompanied by excellent, sunny wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

Formerly Iberian, then Roman, Elne is the oldest town in the Languedoc Roussillon, and Hotel Cara-Sol, with an elevated position overlooking the Languedoc Plain and the Eastern Pyrenees, is perfectly situated to discover and explore one of the most diverse and richest cultural regions of France. Places to visit: Elne cathedral ; Perpignan, Elne is situated just 10km south of Perpignan, the second town of Catalonia. This bustling, dynamic place is full of great charm, with its old town dominated by the Palace of the Kings of Majorca. Perpignan can easily be reached by road or train from Hotel Cara-Sol. Collioure, the nearby coastal town, attracted artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Derain, inspired by the light and beauty of the town, and many colourful copies of theirs and others' works can be seen at the exact spot where each was painted. Ceret, charming little town, features within its Museum of Modern Art works by Picasso, Marc Chagall and Joan Miro. Figueras and Cadaques, both in Spain, a 45 minutes drive from the hotel, are famous for Salvador Dali museum and home. Activities : walking, mountain biking and cycling.
