On leaving Carcassonne, it will take you no more than 10 minutes to reach the pastoral calm of the Chateau de Floure. Initially a Roman villa, built on the Via Aquitania between Narbonne and Toulouse, it became a monastery during the Middle Ages. Ten centuries went by and then, during the reign of Henri IV, a President of the parliament of Toulouse chose the building as his country residence. The house later became the contemporary home of the writer Gaston Bonheur. Today it is a hotel full of atmosphere, offering a blend of comfort, refinement and delicious gastronomic cooking.
